Blümchen two part system Junior/Adult
The two part system from Blümchen Junior/Adult cons
Het tweedelige systeem van Blümchen Junior/Adult consists of a bamboo-cotton fitted diaper with a high absorbency and a water-resistant cover.
The fitted diaper
This fitted diaper has been specially developed for older children, adolescents and adults with a lot of urine loss. This reusable incontinence material is made entirely of absorbent bamboo-cotton terry cloth around the body. The diaper also absorbs around the hips, making it ideal for people who sleep on their side or turn a lot at night. The flaps around the hips are quite wide, which ensures a good fit around the body. As a result, the diaper falls relatively high on the stomach and back. For most people, the diaper will reach about navel height. This ensures that this diaper can come above the waistband. This is something to take into account when wearing during the day.
To make this diaper waterresistent you need a cover, to ensure that your clothes stays dry. These covers are not included. These incontinence pants can be perfectly combined with the Blümchen cover. In most cases, the adult cover from Kijani will also fit over them. The Teen cover from Kijani do not fit over this fitted diaper. The fitted diaper needs to be changed for a new one with every changing. You can use two covers per day, which are washed at the end of the day or after a night. In between, you hang the used cover to air for a while before using them again, so you alternate them. You can use the cover about 2 to 3 times before washing them.
If the diaper itself does not absorb enough, it is possible to place one or more extra booster(s) in the diaper. A cotton Blümchen prefold in size L can also be used as extra absorbency. The diaper can be adjusted completely to your needs in this way. If you would like more absorption, it is also an option to try a size larger. Many sizes have overlap in the waist size. If the diaper has to be closed on a small position, this diaper will sit more bulkier, than when it just fits. In addition, the diaper will then sit higher on the stomach and back. In most cases, it will then come over the navel.
The diaper can be adjusted around the hips with two rows of snaps. The diaper can be closed with 6 snaps on both sides, but it is not necessary to always close all the snaps. In most cases, closing 4 to 8 snaps is enough, so 2 to 4 per side. It is also possible to close these snaps non-symmetrically if this suits the body shape better. You then choose to make the bottom button one notch looser or tighter than the top button at the belly. It is often useful to leave the middle button open. A photo has been added where the bottom button is a bit looser than the button at the belly. This is especially useful for people with sturdy upper legs in relation to the belly. If the belly is firmer in relation to the legs, it can sometimes be nice to make the button at the belly one notch looser than at the bottom at the legs.
The table shows the minimum and maximum waist size of the diaper. At the maximum waist size, the diaper is closed with both rows of snaps. It is also possible to close the diaper with one row of snaps. The diaper will then fit a little longer. The second row of snaps will then touch the skin. In general, people do not have any problems with this. Size XS fits from about 26 kg, but is still very large. The diaper will then fall over the navel and hang between the legs. If you are looking for a diaper for a young child between 25 kg and 30 kg, the GroVia Big O.N.E., the Kijani SIO cover, the Kijani pull-up diapers and the Bedwetter Pants from Mother-ease are generally a more suitable choice. The Huda Junior diaper is also a very flexible fitted diaper that fits most people up to about 30 kg.
Size S is for (young) adults and starts to fit from about 35 kg. This is the lower limit. Size S is not suitable for toddlers and preschoolers. The age indication is a rough indication. The smallest size is when the elastics are not stretched at all. When stretched, the elastic in the diaper is completely stretched and the diaper will be really tight.

The cover
The cover is specially designed for the Junior/Adult fitted diaper from Blümchen. They come in the same sizes as the fitted diaper and can be combined well. When using the fitted diaper, a cover is necessary to make it a water-resistant whole. In addition to the fitted diaper, the cover can also be used perfectly with other incontinence material or with fold cloth diapers. The cover has two flaps on the inside at the front and back where inserts, boosters or fold cloth diapers (for example cotton Blümchen prefold in size L) can be placed underneath. In this way, the diaper can also be put on as one piece. By placing more or fewer inserts in the cover, the absorption of the diaper can be adjusted precisely to your needs. For example, more absorption is placed in the diaper if it is worn for a longer period of time and less absorption can be placed in the diaper if it only needs to be worn for a short time or if there is little urine loss.
When changing, you change the fitted diaper or the boosters/fold cloth diapers (or other absorbent parts) each time and you switch between two of the cover per day. In between, you hang the used cover to air for a while before using them again. At the end of the day, both covers go in the wash and the next day you start again with two clean covers. The cover can be used about 2 to 3 times before they go in the wash.
The cover can be adjusted around the hips with two rows of snaps. The cover can be closed with 12 snaps, but it is not necessary to always close all the snaps. In most cases, closing 4 to 8 snaps is enough to keep the waterresistant outer part in place. It is also possible to not close these snaps symmetrically if this suits the body shape better. You then choose to make the bottom button one notch looser or tighter than the top button at the belly. It is often useful to leave the middle button open. A photo has been added where the bottom button is a bit looser than the button at the belly. This is especially useful for people with sturdy upper legs in relation to the belly. If the belly is firmer in relation to the legs, it can sometimes be nice to make the button at the belly one notch looser than at the bottom of the legs.
The cover has fairly wide hip flaps, which makes them fall quite high compared to other incontinence products. Because the cover is a bit wider, they come out more easily above the pants. In our experience, the cover fall a bit narrower around the legs compared to the Blumchen fitted diaper. This can be solved by not closing the bottom snap of the cover or closing it crookedly. When you go towards the utmost position of the largest waist circumference, it can be useful to choose a larger size of cover. It is therefore possible that a larger size of cover is needed than the correct size of the fitted diaper. Many sizes have overlap in the waist circumference. When the diaper has to be closed at a small position, this diaper will fit a bit more bulkier, than when it just fits. The diaper then also falls a bit higher. It can also fall over the navel.
