Elskbar is Danish for “lovable”. Like the washing label in the products say;

Is that cute or what? Elskbar was founded by Louise. She has four sons and an enormous passion for cloth diapers. That sounds familiar to us! When her eldest son was a newborn in 2010, he did a giant poopy diaper in her only cloth diaper and this was the temporary end to Louise’s cloth diaper adventure. There was only very little available back then and she had no idea what to do with this dirty diaper. When she was expecting her second son, there was a lot more available online. She bought a large amount of newborn diapers and cloth diapering was a success from the start. Her third son, who came a few years later, turned out to be a heavy wetter. The only diaper that kept him dry did not fit nicely and was so bulky. This is how she started searching for a trimmer, but still well absorbent diaper and that is how Elskbar started.

All Elskbar products are made in a small scale factory in China where 70 people work. The youngest employee is 28 years old. Louise spent a lot of time researching and contacting sewing workshops and factories to find the right one. Eventually, she picked this factory, because the owner keeps an eye for good working conditions for his employees. They earn a proper salary, do not work extremely long days and have the right to extra days off. Louise is in contact with the factory owner daily, not only about diapers but also about private business. Louise is convinced that also in China, it is possible to work with an honest company.
