The hems around the belly and legs have elastics to provide a snug fit. The mesh-like lining of the diaper will keep stool inside of the diaper.

Based on other reviews, ordered this large size for my baby of +-9kg (9mnds), and it seems like a good choice. Middle piece on the smallest setting, legs can be even tighter. Haven't had to catch any poop yet, so I can't say anything about that.

How incredibly happy I am to have this swim diaper for my 1.5 year old son. He swam wonderfully in it for 2 weeks. I have washed it regularly and it stays great! It does not leak and you can easily adjust the size. So much better than disposable swim diapers. I am over the moon!
